A day in time....destiny is mines

There comes a time in life when you know that you are lined up with destiny
When the Lord of glory shows up mightily
For the journey has been long and grueling
"Be it unto me lord" your spirit is moving
Upon the face of earth...I wait patiently for you to reveal your plans upon the distant lands
Your will be done, thy kingdom come
Who was and is and is to come...

Mother of Zoie........

                         Mother of Zoie

Beauty, Holiness- the essence of the blessing.
The smell of frankincense is upon her breast. The words of Christ
She forever confessed. For she saw the deep things….the things that only
The spirit could reveal. Through all the trails & tribulations she shouted
“victory” because she knew that by his stripes she was already healed.
Delicate as a lily…with wisdom from on high. She told me one sweet day
“Zoie, momma is not going to die”….I didn’t understand it at that moment, but
Progressive revelation has surely come. Because of Christ she lives…she
Fought the good fight & through Jesus her battle had been won. And, because
Of her prayers and sacrifices for me  I, Zoie, now intimately worship God the Father
And Jesus the son…who was and is and is to come…….

Listening to United Tenors singing "I Surrender"  right now and I'm inspired to write......

My heart is open to love
Take me away into your secret place
For only you can fill that space
Never again to allow it to be occupied by those who don't belong there
Those who are afraid to care
Give and forgive

Live by living a life consumed by faith
Live as if today is your last day
Before you close your eyes remember to pray
For God hears our hearts cry....he will provide and supply
Those things that you need most of all
Stand tall.....God won't let you fall.
Let down your wall....allow the king of glory to come in.
He has the power to give you a new start and to cleanse you from your sins....

Make the most of every day.....

WOW! March is here already.
Amazing how 2013 is moving along quickly. Time waits for no one!
Though it keeps moving along, you see people taking life for granted.
Holding off apologizing for the perfect time.
Holding grudges over something rudimentary.
Forgetting that God forgives us and we too must forgive those who hurt or mistreat us.
If Jesus could pray for and even forgive Judas....surely you can forgive the sly remarks someone made about you?
When was the last time you extended mercy to someone? Selah......
Choosing not to love...sadly choosing fear instead.
Congressman Jesse Jackson Jr. and his lovely wife wish they could start all over again
And, here you are taking life for granted. Not cool!
The beautiful model in South Africa shot to death by a man she trusted and loved would give anything to be still be here to continue her fight for domestic violence!
And, precious little Hadiyah Pendleton....I can't even speak on that. It hurts too much!
If you have breath in your body on today use it to thank God, to say I'm sorry, to forgive, to live and above all to LOVE.

Best,

Psalms of Evelyn...In Honor of my Mommy

I created a book of poems entitled, "Psalms of Evelyn" and gave it to my sisters, brother in law, nieces and nephews and my dear friend and sister Asmeret as a Christ-mas gift.
Below you will find one that explains our love and honor for my mother as she transitioned to be with Jesus...

Having never met her physically, they yearn for their grandmother’s embrace
Oh what joy it would be if David could once again rub on Nu-Nu’s face.
If Gia could hear her yell “Judy’’ and be engulfed in her grandmother’s touch.
Steven Jr. would be elated if he could sit and discuss the world around us, basketball and many other political things of such……
And, sweet little Jadah would leap for joy to converse about God with “Nu Nu”…Jadah would love telling “Nu Nu” of all the times she’s felt Jesus near her, it’s true.
Beddar would lie beside her while Steve would say “Ms. Squire, do you need anything?”Chaya would sip coffee with her and Zoie would write a poem expressing her adoration for their Dearest Mother for there will never, ever be another. Oh, how we miss you sweet Mother….

As she prepared to meet her savior, she would steal away to pray
Asking the Lord to protect us and guide her children and children’s children along the way.
For she knew the pain we would feel not having her physically to hold
She said, “Dearest Lord, promise me you will comfort them as they journey without me on this road!”
The Lord replied, “Yes, Evelyn, I will do as you have asked…I will never forsake them and all that you decreed over their lives shall come to pass”
It was then that Mommy knew it was okay to take her last breath and to move from earth to her eternal heavenly place.
She saw the face of Jesus, though physically blind, she was ready to meet him face to face.
She quickly glanced over her home and spiritually kissed all of her children and grandchildren on the cheek.
As she stood side by side with Jesus, a tear fell as she journeyed beyond the mountains peak.
Jesus whispered, “Evelyn, you have mirrored me in your earthly life and because of this, your children and children’s children are the bride of Christ.
They will go on to do great things in my name….”All Glory to God” is what they will proclaim.
Let’s go Evelyn… they are prepared and equipped to continue your legacy.
You have done well my dear daughter…. Soon you will see them all in eternity.
And, what a reunion that will be….I will be there to welcome them all…FOR I AM CHRIST, YOUR MAJESTY!
